Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream

Busch Gardens is hosting its annual scare event- its Halloween Howl-O-Scream, with a rock theme to make it a REAL Halloween Party! “My X Rocks,” as it seems it’s called this year, will feature live music by band My X.

However, as fans sneak backstage and discover that the “cruel song lyrics” are more than just twisted imagination, “it becomes a life-or-death race to get out,” says the official web site.

The story centers around a sick crime story- a girl whose boyfriend cheats on her, after which he goes missing and she takes over his band, YX. According to the made-up tale, she takes men’s fingers, keeping them in vials. And soon, fans begin to go missing. As you go through the web site, it’s clear that Sylvie- the lead singer- is pretty much insane… and obsessive.

Fun things to do at this year’s Howl-O-Scream include a club, live music, scare houses, and more.

But how does Howl-O-Scream 2010 compare to Halloween Horror nights XX? Halloween Horror Nights has a long-standing history of being one of the scariest Halloween events in the United States and, arguably, the Western world. However, with such a developed back story, could recent Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Howl-O-Scream events measure up to the scare giant?

As it is, Howl-O-Scream is definitely not an event to be scoffed at. If you try it out this year, let us know if you liked it- and whether or not Halloween Horror Nights was just as good or better!

As I like to remind guests in all of my Halloween Horror Nights posts, these are not events for children- so don’t ruin your Orlando vacation by scaring your kids. If you have young ones and you don’t want to leave them behind on your Orlando vacation, you could try taking them to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
