Those familiar with Disney’s Boardwalk might find something missing- the Spoodles restaurant has been converted in Kouzzina by celebrity chef Cat Cora. Cat Cora began working with Disney in 2008 doing a series of videos, and she is the first and (thus far) only female Iron Chef. She has also been featured at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival and at Disney’s California Food and Wine Festival at Disneyland. Kouzzina is the first table-service restaurant by Cat Cora, who serves Mediterranean-style dishes inspired by her Greek heritage. It’s owned by Disney, and open for breakfast and dinner. It seats up to 200 guests. There is a small pizza window for outside casual dining, and inside decor includes an open kitchen and wooden tables and chairs. The cuisine goes from traditional breakfast items- Greek-style yogurt, arugula salad, kalamata olive toast, and other goodies- to a dinner menu that includes calamari, goat cheese stuffed grape leaves, spinach pie, and more. Although the menu is a bit on the expensive side, it promises a traditional family feel and very delicious food. Kouzzina, by the way- pronounced koozeenah- is Greek for ‘kitchen.’
