Epcot – New Additions to Germany Pavilion

I’m sure that many of you are familiar with the 16th-century modeled town and cobblestone streets of Walt Disney World’s Germany pavilion at Epcot. The castle holds a clock tower, a fountain with a statue of St. George slaying a dragon, and a variety of shops and oom-pah band music. I love the atmosphere – like the story books have come to life and it’s all just waiting for you to explore it and make it real. Those of you familiar with the Germany pavilion should know what I mean and you should also be familiar with the Glas und Porzellan or “Glass and Porcelain” shop. And I’m sure just as many of you were a little sad to see it close down in July. But Disney didn’t hurt us too badly because the shop closed to make way for a new, more delicious shop, Karamelle-Kuche, literally meaning “Caramel Kitchen.” It’s time to get happy caramel cravers because Karamelle-Kuche is set to open on September 22, 2010 and will offer many delicious treats such as fresh caramel popcorn, caramel apples, caramel covered strawberries and marshmallows. There will also be gourmet caramels, cookies, fudge, cupcakes, brownies, and unique products from Storck stocked on the shelves. You candy lovers ought to be pretty familiar with Storck’s candies, such as Werther’s Original, Riesan, Mamba, Merci, and Toffifay. There’s a lot to be excited about here and there will most likely be much more to choose from once the new kitchen opens shop. My sweet tooth is going to make the next month feel more like a year! It’s almost painful having to wait so long, though I’m sure it will be well worth it.
