Orlando Vacations – Manners Please! Part 1

We all want to be kids again, with the plus of being an adult- wild, free, fun-loving being with no rules who can eat ice-cream for dinner if we want to.

Orlando theme parks are an amazing outlet for this; we can ride the rides we want, eat what we want, and nobody can tell us to use our inside voices when screaming out a lung on a rollercoaster!

But for some reason, we tend to leave our common sense at the Disney and other theme park doors, like a sad puppy left behind: we’ll take care of it when we get home.

Please, for the sake of the other guests and for the Orlando natives, abide by some Common Courtesy rules!

When sitting in shows:

Please don’t record the whole thing on your camcorder; the person behind you is limited to a shiny viewfinder screen and is unable to watch the show they waited an hour in line for.

This also means no flash photography- it can blind the actors or, if it’s a theater, the other viewers. If you must take photos, take only a few, and keep the flash off please!

Crying children don’t belong in loud shows. Small children easily turn into crying children. Please be considerate of them.

Hats are fun. They hide bad hair and look nice. However, no matter how nice your hat is, the person behind you wants to admire the show, not your head. Please take hats off!

A comment or two to your friend/parent/child is fine during the show; a small “ooh” or “ahh” of appreciation. A running dialogue is not appreciated. Please don’t speak during a show.
