Universal Studios’ Hard Rock Hotel Hosts Exclusive Cocktail Parties
The Hard Rock Hotel is a great late night destination during your Universal Orlando Vacation. The hotel holds special rock n roll themed cocktail parties called Velvet Sessions. On the last Thursday of the month, enjoy live music and creative cocktails in the ultimate Hard Rock lounge.

August 30: Flock of Seagulls
Flock of Seagulls are an English New Wave band. Formed in Liverpool by keyboardist and vocalist Michael Score and his brother, drummer Alister James Score. Frank Maudsley was added as the bassist and Paul Reynolds joined in, playing the guitar. Fame quickly followed their 1980s MTV video for the song “I Ran (So Far Away)”, but they are also known for the hit singles: “Space Age Love Song,” “Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)” and “The More You Live, the More You Love”.
September 27: Bret Michaels
Bret Michaels is a well-known American musician who, in his career has also become an actor, director, screenwriter, producer and reality TV star. As lead vocalist of the glam metal band Poison, Bret helped the band sell over 30 million records worldwide. Ten of the band’s singles made it to spots on the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, including the number-one single for “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”.
October 25: Soul Asylum
A mixture of midwestern appearance, punk, hardcore, 1970s rock, country, one review described the band as “an unholy mix of Kiss and Hank Williams tossed under a runaway train.” One of the first bands credited with pioneering the “grunge era”, the band remained relatively underground and unknown in the mainstream United States during their prime.
Admission: Tickets are $29 online, $35 at the door, and includes FREE drinks, hors de oeuvres, and warm up tunes from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
