Universal Studios Orlando – Halloween Horror Nights XX

Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights are a staple of Halloween fun houses all over the United States and even around the world and Halloween Horror Nights XX will be even better. Too horrifying for most children, but screaming fun for teens and especially adults, Halloween Horror Nights is celebrating its twentieth year (Halloween Horror Nights 20) as the best spot for chills, thrills, and just plain scary entertainment. Every year, Universal transforms its Universal Studios theme park into a terrifying collection of themes haunted houses, scare zones, and live entertainment. By day it’s a family oriented theme park- by night it’s a horrifying spectacle that keeps guests coming back year after year. It started out as a modest haunted house event in 1991, and soon became the hot spot for thrill seekers everywhere. Although it was toned down post-9/11, it soon reverted to its original state.

The event is open most weekends at night during a limited amount of time, usually between early October and mid November. Each event is ‘ruled’ by an icon, and past characters have included Jack the Clown, the Director, the Usher, Bloody Mary, the Caretaker, the Storyteller, and others. Some of the Universal Studios rides remain open, while a few are even re-themed. So far the most popular event among teenagers was a twisted Wonderland theme and the Bloody Mary theme, which prompted many to try out the old myth:

Stand in a pitch-black room, usually a bathroom, in front of a mirror, and say three times: ‘Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, I have your baby!’ The myth says that she will come out of the mirror. Here is where versions of the story differ: she might scratch up your face, kill you, or drag you into the mirror.

Dare to be scared at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights XX.
