Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is known for being Walt Disney World’s first family and convention center resort. The lobby’s centerpiece is a beautiful Spanish-style fountain called La Fuente de las Palomas, or the Fountain of the Doves, and it sets the theme for the resort’s Colonial Mexico and American Southwest style décor and architecture. There are 1967 guest rooms and suites, which are spread out among three ‘villages’ surrounding a 15 acre lake. The resort’s beautiful architecture features rustic stucco buildings, festive village with Spanish style roofs, and Mexican-style bungalows.

The first of the three villages is called the Casitas, which seem straight out of Monterey or Santa Fe. The Ranchos have a more rustic feel, with a small stream, called an arroyo. These rooms have two- and three-story villas. The Cabanas are 2-story Mexican style adobe bungalows, most of which have a water view. The convention center can be divided into 45 rooms and is 95,000 square feet. The Coronado Ballroom is over 60,000 square feet, with 23-foot high ceilings. It can seat 5000 for dinner or for theater-style meetings, it can seat up to 6500. It can be divided into 18 separate rooms. The Fiesta ballroom can be divided into 10 rooms and is over 21,000 square feet.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort has the largest hot tub in all of Disney World, and fits up to 22 people. There are three heated pools, each one located in the Cabanas, Ranchos, and Casitas areas, as well as the archaeological themed Dig Site, with a Jaguar pool slide and the Lost City of Cibola pool. Nearby, guests can find a volleyball court. Guests may also rent a kayak or Sea Raycer and go boating on Lago Dorado (Golden Lake). Rentals operate seasonally.

There are many room types available for this resort. The standard rooms, both regular and with a water view, offer two queen sized beds, a table with chairs, high-speed internet (for an extra fee), a mini-fridge, an in-wall safe, a vanity area with separate bathroom, and a ceiling fan. The king rooms offer the same, with a king sized bed in place of the two queen beds.

The junior suite rooms have two queen beds, as well as a queen sized pull-out bed. It also has two ceiling fans and two bathrooms. The junior king suite has a king bed as well as a queen sized pull-out bed, two bathrooms, and two ceiling fans.

The Casitas 1 bedroom suite offers a master bedroom with two queen sized pull-out beds and a bathroom, as well as a second bedroom with a queen-sized pull-out bed and a bathroom. It also has a parlor, two ceiling fans, two vanity areas with a sink, and a DVD/VCR player and stereo.

The Casitas executive suite features a master bedroom with two queen sized beds and bathroom with a whirlpool tub, as well as a second bedroom with a king sized bed and its own bathroom. There is also a parlor with a bathroom, a wet bar, three vanity areas with sinks, a couch, a large office desk, a DVD/VCR player, stereo, and complimentary internet in select suites. It also has robes for easy relaxation. A crib is available for all rooms through Housekeeping.
