Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is
designed with the look and feel of the charming
New Orleans French Quarter and the celebration
of Mardi Gras. The area is decorated with Mardi
Gras imagery, a large jester, and alligators
playing musical instruments. There are oak and
pear trees as well as beautiful and fragrant
magnolias and bougainvillea, as well as
fountains and other beautiful details along the
walkways; the three buildings- peach, cream, and
blue- have 144 guest rooms each, some
overlooking the Sassagoula River and its many
walkways.
The
standard and water view rooms offer two double
beds, a vanity area with two sinks, a privacy
curtain between the vanity and the room, a safe,
and other amenities, including high-speed
internet (for a fee). The kid bed offers the
above, but has a king bed instead of two double
beds.
Doubloon Lagoon is
the resort’s main pool, and is one of the most
creative and colorful pools at the Disney World
Resort- it features a sea serpent water slide
and an alligator band. There is also the pool
complex available at the Ol’ Man Islands, located a short walk away at
the Disney’s Port Orleans - Riverside resort
complex.
The resort also
offers South Quarter Games arcade, the
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory food court,
restaurants, the Scat Cat's Club lounge, shopping, and more. Transportation
is available to Downtown Disney Marketplace by
boat, as well as the buses that take guests to
Disney areas such as theme parks, water parks,
and more. |
