How does a Free Disney Dining Plan save you money?

We received great responses from several of you from our last newsletter expressing interest and curiosity about the latest Disney vacation deal offering free dining during the length of your Disney vacation. Many of you asked, “This Free Disney Dining plan sounds great, but how much does this deal really save me?” So, we’re here to answer your questions and help you figure out just how much money this deal will save you on your Disney vacation.

With this deal, when you book a reservation with a check-in on one of the valid dates at a Disney resort hotel, you can get 2 meals and 1 or 2 snacks for each night of your stay. This deal is valid for most stays up to 14 nights, imagine not paying for your meals that entire time!

There are two types of Disney dining plans offered for free with this offer, depending on what category of Disney hotel you book your package at. If you stay at one of the Disney Value resorts you can get a free Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan for your entire family during your stay. Staying at a Disney Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa hotel? Then you qualify for a free Disney Dining Plan for your stay.

I’m sure you’re wondering, what’s the difference between the two plans? Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan gives you 2 quick-service meals per each night of your stay. Quick-service meals are fast, grab-and-go meals that you order at a food counter and then can sit to eat. It’s self-service dining, much like you would find at a fast-food restaurant with burgers, hot dogs, pizza and fries. Only at Disney, these meals average around $10-$15 per person, that’s about $40-$60 for one meal for a family of four.

The Disney Dining Plan gives you 1 quick-service meal like the one described above and 1 table-service meal per night of your stay. The table-service meal is a sit-down meal at a full service restaurant where you are seated and a server takes your order and brings your food to you so you can relax with your family. On the Disney Dining Plan, these table-service meals include an appetizer, entrée, dessert, and drink. If you pay for this meal yourself, this can cost anywhere from $30-$60 per person, costing $120-$240 for one meal for family of four. This latest Magic Your Way vacation package offer with a Free Disney dining plan can save you a lot of money when the cheapest meals at Disney cost a minimum $40 for your family, but you get them for free.

Disney can be complicated, but our goal is to make it easy for you. Check out our blog for our easy-to-understand guide to this Free Disney Dining Plan offer and how it can save you money.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween

Trick-or-treating in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World? Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is trick-or-treating, Halloween parades, special fireworks and so much more! This event is great, not-so-scary fun for the entire family. Everyone loves it, from little kids to parents, grandparents to even the stubborn teenagers; it’s a great way to get the family into the Halloween spirit.

This event runs select nights from September 13 through November 1, 2011 after Magic Kingdom closes, from 7 pm to midnight. Many people dress up for the event in costume, and Disney even encourages safe, family-friendly costumes.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a fun event with a lot to do. Not only can you trick-or-treat for free candy around Magic Kingdom, but there are party exclusive parades and Halloween fireworks. At this party, you also have opportunities to meet characters rarely in the parks. Characters may vary, but there have been reporting in past years of Snow White’s favorite friends, the Seven Dwarfs, being there.

This is a separately ticketed event, admission is not included with regular Magic Your Way theme park admission ticket and prices range from$54-$68 depending on which party date you attend. For more details about this event, read here for our take on it.

This Special offers can only be done by phone by calling a Disney Vacation Specialist toll free at (866) 882.4720

When is a good time of year to visit Orlando?

This is another popular question we get from those trying to plan their Orlando vacation. And as locals, we see Orlando all year round, so we really can help you plan for an amazing vacation any time of year.

Fall or winter is one of the best times to visit Orlando for many reasons. One of the top reasons that visitors love Orlando this time of year is the weather. By late September/early October most of the daily rain that’s typical during central Florida summers has stopped, leaving clear skies. Another perk is the drop in temperature, something we definitely love around here. Cooler weather and less rain means more time in the parks to have fun.

There’s also so much to do in the fall here in Orlando. Disney has fun, popular events such as the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for you to experience. Universal Orlando has their annual Halloween event that’s sure to terrify called Halloween Horror Nights (separate admission required) that takes place in October. These events are so much fun that many visitors plan their trips just for the events. When even the locals go, like they do to these fall events, you know they’re not worth missing.

One of the best perks is lower crowds. Fall is not a high crowd season which means less waiting in lines for rides, less stress and lower prices. Hotels often lower prices and deals are offered because there are less people and they want to draw more people in. So if you can visit Orlando in the fall, you’re more likely to find a good deal than during peak summer seasons.
