Universal Orlando®
Resort opened on June 7, 1990. Its focus was to invite visitors
to come and “Ride the Movies.” Nine years later, it began
expanding, adding Universal’s Islands of Adventure® theme park,
the Universal CityWalk® walkway, two multi-level parking lots,
and three onsite hotels. Originally named Universal Studios
Escape, it's built on-par with Disney World Resort and is in
fact the second largest resort in Orlando after Disney World;
what was designed to be a single theme park has become one of
the top contenders in Orlando entertainment. Ever since
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter area opened here in June
2010, Islands of Adventure has become extremely popular and
probably the number one attraction in the US. We invite you to
enjoy our Universal Studios vacation planner page, with all the
information to plan your vacation to Universal Studios Orlando.
